The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Sales Support Executive to join their growing commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the food and drink industry. The role would suit someone who is commercially minded, organised, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where they can be closely involved in both customer relationships and new business activity.

You will play an important role in supporting the sales team, helping to generate new opportunities, and ensuring customers receive a high level of service. It’s a hands-on position that offers exposure to the full sales cycle within a supportive and ambitious SME business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the sales team with new business activity, including customer research and lead generation
  • Assisting with the development and management of the sales pipeline
  • Contacting prospective customers through calls, networking, and industry events
  • Working closely with internal teams including NPD, supply chain, and operations
  • Managing customer accounts, handling queries, and building strong relationships
  • Supporting order processing and ensuring all customer requirements are handled efficiently
  • Analysing sales data and reporting on performance where required
  • Keeping up to date with market trends and competitor activity
  • Providing general sales administration support to the commercial team

The Person

  • 1–3 years’ experience in a sales, commercial, or customer-facing role
  • A genuine interest in the food and drink industry
  • Confident, proactive, and willing to take a hands-on approach
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships easily
  • Well organised with strong attention to detail
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and keen to develop a career within sales
