Intake / Pea Milling Operative

£15.98 per hour

Our client is a well-established importer and processor of rice, grains, and other raw materials sourced from across the globe. They supply high-quality ingredients tailored to the needs of UK manufacturers and wholesalers. Due to ongoing expansion at their milling facility in Fulbourn, they are seeking a dedicated Intake / Pea Milling Operative to join their team.

The Role:<br data-start="960" data-end="963" />Working closely with the existing Intake / Outloading Operative, you will support the intake, cleaning, processing, and milling of whole and split peas. You will play a key role in achieving production targets and maintaining high product quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow the production and intake schedules accurately

  • Process whole peas and prepare for splitting

  • Operate and monitor milling equipment effectively

  • Adhere to responsibilities linked to third-party accreditations (BRC, FEMAS, GMO, Kosher, etc.)

  • Ensure correct receipt of materials in line with schedules

  • Prevent cross-contamination by following correct discharge changeover procedures

  • Complete scheduled inspections and quality checks

  • Conduct vehicle inspections before loading

  • Maintain accurate production and traceability records

  • Perform metal detection, X-ray, and other quality validation checks

  • Load out pea meal when required, including outside normal hours

  • Report any issues affecting production efficiency to management

  • Complete all tasks per written procedures and training requirements

 

Hours of Work:<br data-start="2117" data-end="2120" />Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm

 

About You – Skills & Qualifications:

  • Counterbalance FLT Licence (desirable)

  • Basic IT and computer literacy

  • Food Safety & Hygiene Level 2 (desirable)

  • First Aid trained (training provided if required)
