Our client, a manufacturing company located near Montreal, QC is looking for an Instrumentation and Control Technician to join their team.
What you will do in this role:
- Install, configure, and repair various types of instrumentation and control devices, including sensors, transmitters, controllers, actuators, and other related equipment. Calibrate and program industrial electronic equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration of instrumentation and control systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair faults, failures, or malfunctions in instrumentation and control systems promptly to minimize downtime in production.
- Collaborate with operations to develop and implement maintenance procedures for instrumentation and control equipment.
- Repair and upkeep electrical equipment.
- Program Alain Bradley automates and industrial equipment.
- Conduct electrical and mechanical installations.
- Complete connections on various communication networks of computers and automates.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement projects.
- Ensure the proper transfer of information to the electromechanics following new projects and interventions on production lines.
- Perform appropriate modifications to existing applications, including updates and repairs.
- Test applications and correct any problems that may arise.
- Verify critical points of each equipment and ensure that it is fully functional.
- Develop a program identifying critical points of each machine following dismantling and assembly procedures. Create checklists to be followed before start-ups.
- Program software and create operating manuals.
- Train the users on how to use the new or updated application and ensure their proper understanding and functioning.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to new personnel, share experience and knowledge in a collaborative environment.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, calibrations, and upgrades performed on instrumentation control systems.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides for instrumentation and control system.
What you will bring to the role:
- Bachelor of Mechanical and/or Electrical and/or Manufacturing Engineering; or other relevant academic experience.
- Minimum of five (5) five years of pertinent experience in Food manufacturing, programming, testing, and commissioning advanced control systems.
- Mastering the creation and interpretation of electrical schemas, pneumatics, and hydraulics, in ladder diagram and functional sequence diagrams (Function Block Diagrams) to effectively resolve problems.
- Knowledge of different technology of sensors and actuators as well as network communication ethernet IP.
- Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Background in electrical instrumentation, wiring and troubleshooting is an asset.
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
