Key Accountability.  

Working as part of a dynamic and collaborative team and reporting to a Senior Specifications Technologist, you will be responsible for: 

  • Writing and maintaining finished product specifications for a wide range of products supplied and produced both in-house and through partners. 
  • Ensuring all data is validated and accurately entered into internal and retailer specification systems. 
  • Generating pack copy data and reviewing artwork to ensure label information is accurate and legally compliant. 
  • Liaising cross-functionally with suppliers, regulatory, technical, procurement, and marketing teams to gather and verify information. 
  • Keeping up-to-date with changing legislation and customer requirements to ensure all specifications meet the latest compliance standards. 
  • Managing multiple tasks effectively while maintaining a high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. 

 People Profile.  

Open to candidates at different experience levels: 

Entry Level: 

  • A degree or qualification in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related discipline. 
  • A keen interest in food specification systems and labelling compliance. 

Experienced Technologist: 

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a specification technologist role within the food industry. 
  • Confident working with retailer specification portals and internal spec systems. 

In Both Cases, You’ll Need: 

  • High IT literacy and confidence in data entry and document control. 
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills. 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently. 
  • A meticulous eye for detail and a drive for accuracy.
