Development Manager

We are seeking a passionate and driven New Product Development (NPD) Manager to lead the creation of innovative food products across brand and retail own-label ranges. This is a key role within the business, reporting to the Head of Commercial and working closely with Commercial, Marketing, Technical, and Operations teams.

You will manage the full concept-to-launch process, ensuring that new products meet commercial, quality, and brand expectations.

Key Accountabilities:

· Lead and manage the full NPD process, from concept development to successful product launch.

· Work closely with cross-functional teams including Commercial, Technical, Operations, and Marketing.

· Provide guidance and support to the Packaging Technologist and NPD Technician.

· Collaborate with Account Managers and Brand teams to understand customer and market requirements.

· Conduct trend analysis and competitor reviews to identify new product opportunities.

· Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets efficiently.

· Play a key role in developing and utilising the new test kitchen facility.

· Support product trials, shelf-life testing, and customer presentations.

Person Profile:

· Strong food manufacturing experience and a solid understanding of factory processes

· Qualification in food science, food engineering/chemical engineering, or food technology

· Technical expertise

· Knowledge of NPD processes, food hygiene, HACCP, and BRCGS standards.

· Deep understanding of food market trends and ability to identify gaps in the market and existing portfolios

· Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and analyse technical information
