The Role 

This is an exciting opportunity for a food-passionate professional to join the Sensory and Product Analytics team as a Consumer Research Technologist. You’ll be responsible for planning, executing and analysing consumer and sensory research projects across a range of beloved brands in quick meals and flavourings. 

You'll work cross-functionally with NPD, Marketing and Insights to bring consumer perspectives into every stage of product development and improvement — from innovation to quality monitoring and cost-saving initiatives. 

Key Accountabilities 

  • Lead consumer research projects across quick meals and flavourings  
  • Deliver product and packaging testing  
  • Manage external research agencies – briefing, overseeing execution, and attending fieldwork as needed. 
  • Support trained sensory panel testing where required. 
  • Run end-to-end projects including sample sourcing, cooking/prep, questionnaire design, data analysis and reporting. 
  • Deliver insights and actionable recommendations through visual, concise presentations. 
  • Uphold best practices and safety regulations while identifying personal development needs. 

Person Profile 

  • A strong passion for food, with a natural curiosity about consumer behaviour. 
  • Previous experience in sensory or consumer research (including placements). 
  • Solid understanding of sensory science principles and evaluation methodologies. 
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; confident with data handling and visualisation. 
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and delivering to deadlines. 
  • Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal. 
  • A self-starter with strong organisational and problem-solving skills. 
  • Full UK driving licence. 
  • Degree or equivalent in Food Science, Technology, Marketing or related field
