Automation & Controls Engineer

Our client is a leading food manufacturing company that is looking to bring on board an Automation & Controls Engineer to develop and design the concept, testing, installation and monitoring of automation processes. This is a great opportunity to be a key stakeholder in a growing company that invests in its employees.

What we are looking for you to do:

  • Complete project execution which includes team leadership, control panel engineering, SCADA design, PLC and HMI programming, and site support of integrated systems.
  • Ensure that all applicable project objectives, policies, procedures, state and federal laws, and ISO requirements are met.
  • Writing the design specification, gather input and validate the deliverables with all stakeholders, coordinating the integrators for the automation and MES applications.
  • Program, configure, test, and commission PLC and HMI based control systems.
  • Provide direction and oversee the maintenance of programs for PLCs and PCs; coordinate with Process Engineers, Project Engineers, Design Engineers, Information Technology staff, as well as Production and Maintenance.
  • Program, configure, test, and commission PLC and HMI based control systems.
  • Review proposals of outside vendors regarding the purchase of new or modernization of existing production/processing controls equipment.
  • Oversee the development of controls functional scope for projects.
  • Negotiate the scope of projects with site leadership and support the projects through the funding approval stage.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Min 5+ years of automation & controls engineering experience in manufacturing facilities required.
  • 2+ years food or beverage manufacturing experience required.
  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related technical degree required.
  • Valid passport and clean drivers abstract required.
  • Clear criminal back check required.
