Supply Chain Customer Service

£35k per annum plus Bonus

Our client based in Buckinghamshire is a leading food ingredients manufacturing business supplying a range of ingredients into the food and beverage industry. They are searching for someone who has great understanding of demand planning, forecasting, customer service and the ability to be part of team within a fast-paced environment.

Job Role
Delivering a complete, precise, and prompt service for sales and intercompany order processing by managing the entire process from order placement to delivery.

Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will need to have experience in the key areas below:
• Working directly with customers to take their orders via EDI, Service Cloud, customer portals or DPortal
• Reviewing content of customer orders, verifying quotation and order, identifying variances and taking corrective actions to meet customer requirements
• Entering orders in the system ensuring pre-determined lead and delivery times are met and optimising costs
• Confirming orders in SAP after completion of availability checks and order processing by plant order management teams and communicating details with customers within the agreed timescales
• Monitoring overdue orders and GI Backlog and escalating via the system to ensure prompt resolution
• Informing customers about quantity deviations, shipping dates or possible delays
• Coordinating self-collections and collating and providing customers with export documentation to meet collection schedules
• Monitoring customers’ accounts receivables on open orders to reduce credit and overdue blocks, prevent delivery delays, and informing Inside Sales colleagues promptly to take necessary action
• Providing customers with order documentation; certificates of analysis, delivery notes and invoices as requested
• Raising product returns as requested by Quality Management and Plant
• Scheduling the prompt and efficient return of returnable packaging (steel containers) from customer sites
• Updating relevant customer master data including delivery locations and booking-in instructions
• Monitoring order quantities, batch sizes, delivery packaging, delivery rates and preparing customer specific business information reports as requested to support business decisions and customer relationships
• Ensuring effective communication with relevant parties: customers, sales teams, plant and logistics, and key internal stakeholders
• Organsing and supporting internal and external meetings in consultation with the relevant departments
• Supporting the development and implementation of the regional customer service strategy
• Placing Inter-Company (IC) and UK Warehousing (0400) orders to ensure the accurate booking in of goods into stock
• Placing plant purchase orders through the system or purchase requisitions, and follow up with manual email confirmations to ensure receipt of orders

Personal Profile
• Apprenticeship as an industrial clerk or HND/Degree in Business Administration or equivalent
• Team player
• SAP knowledge is highly beneficial
• Understanding INCO terms and Customs is advantageous
• Strong negotiation skills are required
