Our client is a global food manufacturer that has doubled in size for each of the past 5-years. As a challenger brand, they focus on delivering the best tasting products made with “better for you” ingredients while bringing fun and quality to every snacking opportunity.

Job Role

Based in London and reporting to the Managing Director, the Director of Sales should operate with a start-up mindset to grow their brand whilst building new business models in changing and developing categories.

Requirements
• Full ownership of global retail sales P&L for grocery
• Bring commercial structure to the UK market
• Develop go-to-market strategies for export markets
• Execute and deliver on sales forecast for domestic and export markets
• Identify areas of growth and build 3-year plan on both top line and profitability
• Analyse and monitor category share, competitors, and other shopper metrics in key markets
• Establish annual goals aligned with company objectives and strategy
• Set monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets for the retail sales team
• Manage key customers in domestic and export markets
• Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting to facilitate informed decision-making
• Analyse sales performance data and implement strategies for improvement
• Manage individual customer and overall trade budgets to ensure effective allocation of
resources
• Manage the execution of national marketing and promotions in collaboration with the
marketing team
• Manage trade budgets to ensure effective allocation of resources
• Lead and inspire high performance within the sales team through mentorship, coaching, and
guidance
• Supervise sales team, driving them to meet goals and KPIs
• Motivate, train, and manage the sales team with regular feedback on performance

Personal Profile
• FMCG commercial experience of at least 5-years, and ideally a background in agile, successful high growth companies
• Proven progression in commercial functions into a senior managerial role
• Strong understanding of market dynamics, trends, and competition
• Curiosity, positivity & enthusiasm: open to learn every day and passionate about the work we do
• Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to compellingly articulate product offering to potential and existing customers
• Results driven – demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding goals
• Analytical – Circana / IRI literate with the ability to turn analysis to selling stories
• Extremely strong and regular communicator – both written and verbal, internal and external
• Ability to travel as needed
